RE: Loading and Hauling Cruiser Bikes

Iuse the pingle mount. It comes off and doesn't have anything sticking up from the floor. Works well even for our trike.

RE: Going from tamdem to tri axle

Dieselgem I really like the KZ thought I would go with the New Vision Sportster but thy only have 41 footer for 2009. Way to heavy for our truck.Really can't afford a new truck and trailer if you know what I mean. What is your F450 licensed for if I may ask?

Going from tamdem to tri axle

We are looking for a larger toy hauler. We currently have a KZ 35px2 and decided we need more room for our winters in the sun. Are there any big differences in towing between the 2 and 3 axle trailers? Ride, sway, etc? I know tolls are higher at most places also inspection if you have it which we do in PA. Anyone using the Titanium toy hauler? That is on our short list right now but not limited at all.The big limit is our 2002 F350 SC longbed SRW truck. Thanks for info.

RE: Harleys High Center When Loading/Unloading

My trike is even worse. I have to use a winch to pull it back into my trailer. I only have 4 and 1/2 inches of clearance to the lowest part of the trike. We raise the trailer up as high as it will go to take the angle out of the ramp. I also took the cover off the top of the ramp that goes into trailer off for another 1/2 inch of clearance. If you have anyway of raising the ramp after your bike is on the ramp then you could really remove the angle between the trailer ramp and floor. I haven't figured out how to do this yet. Oh yeah I also had to flip the axles on my trailer to get it to set level with my 4x4 so it is another 5 inches higher.

Another new winter Texan

We are considering coming to Texas as our 2 boys live there. Houston,Little Elm. We have our reservations in Fl for this winter but we are looking to come down to the RGV next winter. Where is a good place to stay for the winter with full hookups and good motorcycle riding? We will be there at least 4 months and maybe longer. Any recommendations greatly appreciated

RE: Recommendations needed Ocala florida area in March

Haven't stayed there but everyone says Lake Louisa State Park is very nice. It is located on highway 27 about 1 hour south of Ocala. The only thing we don't like is the 2 week stay limit and it is very hard to get a site on the weekends as the locals seem to reserve them. we did stay at Ocala Sun RV park last year. It is right off I75 near Ocala. This year we are staying at Southern Oaks RV Park on 27 and 441 about 3 miles north of the Villages

RE: What to use for a quick spray on protectant?

I use Driwasn"n Guard. Spray it on and wipe around. Then wipe off. It actually removes black streaks and bugs.

RE: Closing house & turning off heat??

Do any of you have baseboard hot water heat? We just turn down the thermostat as low as it will go. Emptying the heat would be very hard if not impossible as far as I can see. Have a friend check the house once a week and no problems so far.

RE: Slide-out Awning Flapping

In Trailer Life there was a man who made a unit out of PVC to stop the flapping and sagging due to rain water. He used pvc pipe and t's and end caps. Then just slide it under the slide topper. There also is a company that sells almost the same thing. Just depends what you want to pay.

RE: Anyone back a GL1800 into their toy haulers?

I thought I hit my coolant tank also.I put DI water in to see if it leaked but it didn't. Today I went to Tractor supply and picked up a Champion 12 winch that is good for 2000 lbs. Next I must mount it to my steel plate so I can put it where the Pingle mount is in front. Then I will wire it to my battery in front of the trailer. What I do to load the trike is I drop the trailer and raise it to take the angle out of where the ramp joins the trailer.I really wonder who designed a motorcycle with the coolant tank being the lowest point on the bike? Crazy.
KWlincoln how does the belly pan work on the GL1800?

Anyone back a GL1800 into their toy haulers?

We recently bought a new Honda GL1800 trike. Our previous trike was a GL1500. I used to be able to back my old trike right up the ramp into the trailer. The new GL1800 won't even get onto the ramp let alone into the trailer.Has anyone else had problems getting their trikes into their trailers? I found that with the new trike driven into the trailer The trailer tends to bounce more going down the road. I guess a new winch is in order so I can pull my trike into the trailer. Any advice on a dc winch that is portable and can pull 2000 to 2500 lbs? My trike weighs 1100 lbs.

RE: JT's Strong Arm Stabilizers

We finally got to try out our new Ultra-fabs. They really work. No more shake. I did find out though that when you get a flat tire they let you know something is wrong. Trailer started to shake when walking though it. Went out to check and found that we had a tire going down. Big nail. So we quick changed it.

RE: Air Compressor

I have a Viair mounted under the cab of my truck. I run it to a 2.5 gal. tank also mounted near the compressor. With it I power my air horns and have an outlet back at the rear bumper. I can run and impact wrench with it if I want to do so. I do use the rear outlet to fill my tires to 100 psi when they need filling. Like said above not cheap but they really work. Big point is the length of time the compressor will run without burning up.

RE: Roadglide bottoming out

Our trike does the same thing on some campsites and at home. I carry a 2x6 along with us and put in under the front wheel as I enter the garage. That would have to be before you enter the garage. I also don't sit on the trike. That gives me additional room. If you have air shocks try adding air to them before going in that will raise the bike some also.
